DreamWorks' Over The Hedge is 18 years old this week! And it is a bonafide classic if you ask me. Coming out during one of DreamWorks' creative peaks, at a time when the animation industry was hot with competition - all from studios gunning to make the best ORIGINAL story. For an industry that had just past a decade in existence, perhaps these were the golden years of 3D animation. Compared to the likes of now with sequel and reboots everywhere, Over The Hedge stands as a foundational rock for what would reflect movies of the future. From speedster scenes, to Steve Carell's voice acting repurtoire, and even commentary on the over-consumerism and capitalism, this movie is rewatchable for both kids and adults. And if you WERE a kid when this movie came out. Then I'm sorry for your growing grey hairs.. This is our anniversary retrospective, for The DreamWorks Classic That Aged Like Wine...
